The pinnacle of wisdom, the highest form of knowledge man can attain, is not the understanding of the heavens or the insight into the mechanics of the earth; not knowledge of the spiritual systems or the scientific world. But rather, man arrives at the pinnacle of wisdom when his is heart full with love for man. When humanity is his occupation and vocation, when people are his passion and purpose, when human beings are his thing and his buzz, he has climbed out of the darkness of separateness and arrived at the wisdom of light and truth.
The world is plagued with divisions within divisions, and only with profound wisdom can man pierce the false façade of reality and see past the division and perceive an underlying unity. When the wisdom of the love of humanity permeates the entirety of his being and takes permanent residence in his heart, he see’s differences as amplifying and not threatening; he feels enlarged by people and not diminished.
He might see the separateness of the body of one from the body of another, but understands that the soul of all sources back to the image of G-d. That every human, from the most degraded to the most revered, from the most broken to the most uplifted, are created in G-d’s image, and that we are all brothers and sisters under the parenthood of his love.
Thus, one who does not have resounding love for humanity cannot be wise. And the one who goes so far to have hate is not only not wise, but painfully foolish.
