Light comes from where there is light
And darkness allows the shine of the light
But sometimes darkness itself is what emits the light
A black coal
Gives off an ember glow
Not only does it give light
But it creates warmth on a cold winter night
The star-studded pitch-black night
Illuminates a spectacular light
Not only does it give the traveller sight
But it uplifts a man by putting to perspective his plights
A man whose life swirls in the dark
Yet he can emanate spark after spark
Not only does he give love and kindness from his darkness
But he can supply a gentle hope although he himself is hopeless
Not all light comes from something bright
Sometimes in the depth of darkness there is a shining light
