It is a beauty of life that our imperfections are what make the beauty in life.
Because we are lacking do we have the pleasure of giving and receiving. Because we feel lonely do we experience the love of loving and of being loved. Because we are born flawed do we have the joy of creating ourselves and lifting the spirits of others.
If we were self-maintaining, self-sustaining entities, then there would be no relationships and no friendships, no simple connections and no deeper partnerships. If we were born perfect then life would have no purpose. With no purpose there’s no meaning. With no meaning there’s no life irrespective of how long we live – and what a lonely and miserable life that would be.
It is our limitations that create the fabric of richness to life. It is our emptiness that is the source of all our desires on this earth. It is our neediness that is the basis of the beauty of our emotions.
Often times we bemoan what we are missing, we decry what we are lacking, we distress that we are remiss in accomplishing. If we could just realize and internalize how G-d made us with all our imperfections is the essence of the perfection of life, that our incompletion is the basis of the grandness to this world, then we can see how our pains are our deepest beauties, how our weaknesses are the root of our strengths, and that our life is beautiful because our imperfections are what make it beautiful.
