More Beautiful Than It Needs To Be

Wake up, I exhale Your love, as in bed I lay;
I pray: thank You for Your faith for another day.

Through the sun’s warmth, I feel Your embrace,
Your being wrapped around me in loving grace.

And when the heat begins to make me swelter,
I take refuge under Your leafy arms for shelter.

The wind blows, and You whisper so soft and sweet;
You caress my face — our spirits meet.

The greenery bursts and leaps to the sky,
I feel Your pulse in all that’s alive.

When I pass by a flower’s scented bloom,
I breathe in Your love through its perfume.

And when I see Your mountains that tower,
You tell me You are my power, and my heart need not cower.

Through the ocean’s chant and dance,
You draw me closer as I feel entranced.

And when it rains, drip after drip,
Kiss after kiss, I feel Your soft lips.

And when my heart is broken by life’s throes,
You heal me through the sight of a rose.

And as I retire for the night and look at the stars,
You remind me how close You are, even though You’re far.

The world is more beautiful than it needs to be,
Because that’s how You sing Your love for me.

And as I enjoy this world of You,
It’s my way of saying I love You too.
