We are all plagued by our own vulnerabilities, insecurities, and sensitivities. No human has found refuge in total certainty; everyman is endangered by a sense of anxiety.
As humans we desire to connect and share, to love and to give. And because we know ourselves the best we want to share ourselves the most. Yet we are often afraid to expose ourselves bare for fear of rejection, and instead of giving ourselves to another, we keep ourselves to ourselves. As a result, although we are not alone because there are people around us, we feel lonely as we feel no one understands us.
To love is to give, and the best, most beautiful thing you can give is the essence of your self. Thus, expressing and telling someone about your real self is the most eloquent, elegant love letter you can write; the most supreme present you can give.
And we come to see when strip ourselves of our externalities, when we dissolve the façades we create and the fronts we erect, we are free to explore our own inner world. And when we share our inner world with others – we truly come to understand who we are and completely share ourselves with ourselves.
